SSE Renewables
SSE Renewables is a leading developer and operator of renewable energy generation, headquartered in the UK and Ireland, with a growing presence internationally.
SSE Renewables is the renewable energy subsidiary of SSE plc, focusing on onshore and offshore wind, hydro, solar and battery storage.
SSE Thermal
SSE Thermal is responsible for the flexible generation subsidiary of SSE plc, focusing on flexible energy generation and storage assets including carbon capture and storage (CCS), hydrogen, energy-from-waste, energy storage and gas generation.
SSE Thermal seeks to become the leading provider of flexible thermal energy in a net zero world. Transforming high-carbon generation assets to low-carbon whilst ensuring a Just Transition for our people.
SSEN Transmission
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks Transmission (SSEN Transmission) are responsible for the electricity transmission network in the north of Scotland, maintaining and investing in the high voltage 132kV, 220kV, 275kV and 400kV electricity transmission network. They are the electricity transmission subsidiary of SSE plc.
SSEN Transmission's network consists of underground and subsea cables, overhead lines on wooden poles or steel towers, and electricity substations.
SSEN Distribution
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks Distribution (SSEN Distribution) are the electricity Distribution Network Operator (DNO) responsible for delivering power to over 3.8 million homes and businesses across central southern England and the north of Scotland and are the electricity distribution subsidiary of SSE plc.
SSE Energy Solutions
SSE Energy Solutions provides access to green energy straight from our UK wind farms for business and local authority customers. Set apart by their ability to innovate and create partnerships, they provide a growing suite of energy products and distributed energy solutions to support customers on the journey to net zero. SSE Energy Solutions are the commercial retail subsidiary of SSE plc.
SSE Airtricity
SSE Airtricity is the retail subsidiary of SSE plc, supplying green electricity, natural gas and energy-related services to homes and businesses in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
SSE Airtricity offers a direct route to market for the green energy generated at SSE’s 29 onshore wind farms around Ireland.
SSE Energy Markets
SSE Energy Markets is the commercial energy market subsidiary of SSE plc, trading commodities and securing value for SSE's asset portfolios in wholesale energy markets. SSE Energy Markets ensures we have the energy supplies required to meet the needs of customers; procuring fuel for our generation plants and selling the power from our wind farms, hydro and low-carbon thermal assets.
