Today SSE has also published a short summary of its most material sustainability impacts over 2019/20, with progress made against its four business goals for 2030 which are aligned to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Key progress over the year includes:
- The setting of science-based carbon targets, leading to the strengthening of SSE’s carbon intensity reduction target;
- A record year for renewable energy output;
- Collaboration on a number of leading innovation projects across the sector; and
- Continued disclosure of the wider societal impact SSE makes, including the contribution it makes to the economy, the taxes it pays, its safety performance and progress on inclusion and diversity.
