SSE Renewables was unsuccessful in the highly competitive Round 4 of UK offshore wind seabed leasing auctions held by The Crown Estate. The successful bids represented record high levels for seabed signalling the attractiveness of UK offshore development. While SSE Renewables has not, in this auction, added to its UK seabed development options, the result of the auction emphasises the value SSE Renewables already has in its strong UK and Republic of Ireland offshore wind pipeline of over 5GW.
SSE Renewables will continue to work towards its aspiration to reach a run rate of at least 1GW of new assets a year during the second half of this decade by seeking out further opportunities both in the UK and internationally.
