SSE response to Ofcom’s announcement on legally separating BT and Openreach

David Walter, Director of Home Services and Propositions for SSE Retail said:

“SSE welcomes the announcement from Ofcom that BT and Openreach are to be legally separated. Legal separation between retail business and infrastructure operators can improve transparency and customer service.

"We hope an independent Openreach will work with all providers, large and small to make sure that all customers receive a good quality service and no one is left behind. This practice has worked well in the energy market and we believe it will benefit customers in the broadband market as well.”
