Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings Services has today affirmed SSE's long-term credit rating of ‘A-’ and maintained the negative outlook. The rating affirmation reflects SSE’s stable operating and financial performance despite what S&P believes to be an increasingly challenging environment in the energy sector.
Gregor Alexander, Finance Director of SSE, said: "We are pleased with the affirmation of SSE’s A- rating albeit with the negative outlook. SSE has a long history of financial strength and discipline and our financial management is designed to maintain that. “With a balanced business and a clearly-defined and well-financed capital investment programme, we believe SSE is and will remain a financially-strong, long term business.”
