SSE has opened its Graduate Development Programme for its August 2017 intake and is calling all those interested to apply before the application process closes at the end of October.
Two programmes are on offer as SSE looks to recruit the talent of tomorrow. Both programmes are crucial to the company’s succession planning so are fully supported throughout the two year programme.
The first Graduate Development Programme on offer, in our Engineering disciplines, takes candidates through to charter-ship in their area of expertise. SSE has over 205,000km of power lines across its distribution and transmission networks as well as power stations, wind farms and hydro projects all requiring fresh talent.
The second, our IT programme, is designed for those who studied Computer Science or other IT related courses. SSE is investing heavily in improving its IT infrastructure in the coming years so this is an exciting time to play a part in the improvements.
Caroline Carslaw is working through the SSE Graduate Development Programme: “There are plenty of people on hand for assistance and advice. In fact, everyone I have encountered during my placements so far have been very friendly, very willing to help and very patient.”
Charlene Cotter from SSE’s recruitment team said both programmes are a great start to a professional career: “Our Graduate Development Programme is ideal for anyone looking to start their professional careers with one of the country’s biggest companies.
“We invest heavily in our new recruits to ensure they reach their full potential. Those lucky enough to secure a place will be guided through our programme by business colleagues, a mentor and their programme manager.”
SSE’s Graduate Development Programme has won many industry awards including a spot on Job Crowd Top 100 Companies for Graduates to Work For and The Guardian’s Top 300.
