SSE this year welcomed another set of young interns as part of the Career Ready programme.

Career Ready is a UK wide charity linking employers with schools and colleges to open up the world of work to young people. The programme matches young people with mentors from a variety of organisations who help guide them through the difficult decisions they have to make as they enter the next stage of their lives. As part of the mentoring programme, each intern is also offered a month paid placement with the company.

SSE has welcomed an increasing number of interns over the last three years and in 2016, between our head office in Perth and our Glasgow base, we hosted 13 individuals aged 16-17.

In this short video Hannah Graham, who worked in our Perth head office, talks about her time learning about all the work we do to keep the lights on.
