SSE has stepped in to help salvage an eight year old’s surprise trip to see Little Mix following a last minute cancellation.

East Kilbride’s Suzanne Eastwood treated her eight year old daughter Sophie to a surprise trip to The SSE Arena, Belfast to see one of her favourite bands, Little Mix. However just as the doors opened last week the gig sadly had to be cancelled because as band member Jesy Nelson fell ill.

And while tickets will still be valid for the re-arranged dates or refunds issued, Sophie’s story was quite unique because of the travel involved.

Colin Banks, Head of Sponsorship at SSE felt the need to step in, “Sophie and her family were understandably disappointed when Little Mix had to sadly cancel the gig. At SSE we are proud to make a difference so when the team heard about the situation we wanted to see if we could help. With Little Mix playing The SSE Hydro this week, we managed to find some space with a group of competition winners so Sophie and her family could enjoy the show from a box in the venue. We can’t always accommodate requests or situations but when we can, and when it’s for the right reasons we’re delighted to help.”
