This week ten lucky winners were given the once in a lifetime opportunity to attend an exclusive “Meet and Greet” with former Wales International winger and SSE SWALEC ambassador, Shane Williams MBE, at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

The competition winners were chosen at random to come to the home of Welsh rugby with three friends or family members for a very special, behind the scenes guided tour with the rugby legend, courtesy of SSE SWALEC.

Shane said: “It’s been great to meet fans and re-live some of my career highlights, from stepping out onto the pitch at the Principality Stadium for the first time, that heart-breaking loss against Newport in the Challenge Cup, to my very last International home game. I have memories here that’ll stay with me forever.”

Winner Vincent Guerin from Cardiff said: “It’s been amazing to meet one of my all-time rugby heroes, especially great for the kids when Shane signed their rugby shirts. We loved every minute.”

The winners have also been given tickets for this year’s SSE SWALEC Finals Day, to see six semi-professional rugby clubs from across Wales battle it out in three dramatic finals in a bid to take home the coveted SSE SWALEC Cup, Plate and Bowl on Sunday 1 May.

Shane continued: “It’s really important to support grass-roots rugby as these guys are the stars of the future. I started off as a scrum-half for Amman United, then got my first professional contract at Neath. I wouldn’t be where I am today without those clubs.”

SSE SWALEC Finals Day is the perfect opportunity for rugby fans to celebrate the grass-roots game and to see our future stars in action. The fun-filled family day out, complete with entertainment and live music, is a great way to get behind our semi-professional clubs.

SSE SWALEC customers can apply for up to four complimentary tickets to Finals Day 2016 by logging on or signing up, for free, to SSE Reward at https://ssereward.com/rugby-and-cricket-in-wales.
