Kaiser Chiefs will be joined by special guests Dizzee Rascal and Everything Everything at The SSE SWALEC in Cardiff this July.

The Leeds band will perform a headlining set featuring their biggest hits with a stellar cast of supporting acts at the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club on Saturday 16 July.

The multi-million record selling, Brit Award winning band are currently working on their 6th studio album. Fronted by Ricky Wilson, who enjoyed a fresh rise to prominence in his role as a winning coach on The Voice, Kaiser Chiefs' recent outdoor gigs Summer 2016 have sold-out in record time.

"We always love playing outdoors and we’ve played fields, parks, farms, rooftops, beaches and back gardens, but an international cricket pitch is a first for us,” said Kaiser Chiefs frontman.

“We always enjoy playing in Wales, we’re looking forward to this show.”

Confirmation the Kaiser Chiefs are heading for south Wales completes a weekend of back-to-back headline acts at The SSE SWALEC, with Simply Red already confirmed to perform the following day at the international cricket venue in the heart of Cardiff.

Venue Chief Executive Hugh Morris hopes that the bill offers exceptional value for ticket buyers and further strengthens the credentials of the historic home of Welsh cricket as a concert venue.

“Our vision was to secure a bill of top talent and to provide a festival feel for a summer Saturday crowd,” said Hugh.

“We’re determined to establish The SSE SWALEC as the venue of choice for music acts looking to perform in South Wales and we’re delighted that The Kaiser Chiefs, Dizzee Rascal and Everything Everything have accepted our invitation to headline the event in July.

“We hope that it proves to be popular with music fans across Wales and further afield.”
