Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution (SSEPD) engineers are today (Thurs) trying to protect the electricity network from yet more flooding across north east Scotland, Angus and Perthshire.
Torrential rain falling on already saturated ground is causing flooding at some of our substations across the region. Despite early preparations the sheer volume of water means some of our equipment, like the above substation at Inchbare near Brechin is under water.
