A delighted group of SSE employees are celebrating after completing their SVQ Level 3 Customer Service course.

The group of 20 were presented with their certificates at a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Perth.

They were congratulated by Carole McAinsh, Perth Site Support & SVQ Manager, and Alison Smith from training provider Genius People.

Sitting an SVQ course with SSE usually takes between six and 12 months, with Genius People visiting once a month and setting candidates work to complete via an online portfolio.

Carole said: “This is a great opportunity offered by SSE to allow employees to grow and learn and it is great to see such an uptake every time we advertise places.

“To our see employees committing to work hard and get results is very rewarding and I’d like to congratulate them all.”

SSE offers five work-based training levels for customer service employees, including Modern Apprenticeships (MA) in Customer Service, Business and Administration and Management.

Carole added: “The Modern Apprenticeship in Customer Services is designed for people working in a wide variety of sectors whose job involves dealing with customers – either internal or external customers.

“Some people find university or college isn't for them and this is an ideal way of gaining a qualification that demonstrates that you not only have the knowledge but also the 'technical know how' to deliver excellent customer service.

“Our Business Administration and Management courses are also designed for different career stages and are excellent for junior administrators through to office managers, offering the skills and knowledge they need to progress in their roles."
