It’s Bring Your Dog To Work Day across the UK. To mark the occasion a group of canine loving SSEPD employees got together to support the campaign and set off for Cumbernauld Airport in Scotland to catch up with a couple of colleagues.

Ross Waddams is Chief Pilot for PDG Helicopters, the company who regularly fly the electricity networks for Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission (SHE Transmission) and Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution (SHEPD), checking towers, poles and lines for any potential or existing damage.

Ollie is an 8-year-old Labrador who loves treats, his squeaky toy and living the high life.

Watch our short video (above) to find out why Ollie’s lab report and co-piloting helps Ross identify any issues on our network and helps keep the lights on for our 760,000 customers across the North of Scotland.

Disclaimer
No pilots or pooches were harmed during the filming of this video, which was made to raise awareness of the work done by SHE Transmission and SHEPD to keep our customers’ lights on, and ‘Bring Your Dog To Work day’ which supports and is supported by the work of canine charities across the UK.

We’d like to thank PDG Helicopters and Ollie’s owner (and SSE colleague) Jennifer Anderson for their help in making this video, but mostly we’d like to thank Ollie for his patience and point out that he kept all four paws on terra firma at all times.
