SSE Airtricity and Phoenix Natural Gas are working together through the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP), to help householders across Northern Ireland save up to £1800 on the cost of installing a modern high efficiency heating system and insulation measures.

NISEP helps householders upgrade their old, less efficient heating systems, by offering a discount of up to £1200 on the installation of a highly efficient natural gas central heating system, as well as an insulation upgrade up to the value of £600.The scheme is open to qualifying householders with Economy 7, solid fuel or those who have no heating at all.

SSE Airtricity’s Energy Efficiency Manager, Ryan George explains;

“Since 2011, SSE Airtricity has assited the delivery of over £2 million in NISEP funding to help consumers across Northern Ireland reduce their energy use and through this year’s NI Sustainable Energy Programme and we hope to continue this trend with a strong response from consumers.”

The Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme is open to homeowners or private tenants and is based on the following income criteria; if you are under 65 and living as a single person with an income between £18,000-£22,000, a couple or single parent family with an income between £25,000-£30,000 or a single person or couple with an income of less than £35,000 and over 65.

Neil McCracken from Phoenix Natural Gas welcomed the latest scheme by saying:

“We are delighted to support this scheme as we really believe it will help to make the move to natural gas much easier for lower income households. You could use up to 40% less energy to heat your home with a new high efficiency condensing natural gas boiler with the correct heating controls. It will assist those in most need to get an efficient, energy saving and value for money heating solution that when coupled with the insulation package represents a truly fantastic deal that will ensure comfort and economy in the years ahead.”
