International cricket bowls into Wales this week with the SWALEC stadium hosting England and India for the second Royal London One Day International on Wednesday.

The first game of the series proved a disappointing Bank Holiday Monday washout at Bristol, so cricket fans will be hoping for clear skies in Cardiff.

Next summer the SWALEC Stadium will stage the opening Investec Ashes Test Match of the five-match series in cricket’s famous rivalry between England and Australia.

SSE SWALEC also supports Welsh cricket through its £10,000 Community Development Fund which was first introduced in 2011, in conjunction with Cricket Wales and Glamorgan Cricket.

It provides matched funding for grassroots cricket clubs to support one of Wales’ most popular sports at a local level.

As England and India prepare for their 50-over contest this week SSE SWALEC brand ambassador, and former England spinner, Robert Croft looks ahead to the match.

He said: “Personally I can't wait to see what happens and I really can't predict the outcome. It should be a really exciting match that could go either way."
