A Family fun day is being held at the Black Isle Showground, Muir of Ord on Saturday 30 August by members of the Highland Local Resilience Partnership and includes representation from Scottish and Southern Power Distribution (SSEPD).
The fun day is open to all members of the public and will have exciting demonstrations by SSEPD tree cutters, free activities for children including bouncy castles and a bucking bronco, displays of operational vehicles from the emergency services and the chance of winning prizes from a variety of activities and from giving us your ideas on Local Resilience plans.
Members of the public will be able to look at examples of and obtain help in creating their own local Community Emergency Plans - based on the Scottish Government template for emergency situations including severe storms, flooding or major public incident. Groups represented on the partnership include: SSEPD, Scottish Government, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire Brigade, Scottish Ambulance Service and Scottish Environmental Protection Agency. Other groups that will be represented will also include - Red Cross, Coastguard, Haste Welfare, Highland 4 x 4 Response and Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team.
MFR have helped to advertise the event and will have staff in attendance to receive donations for the ‘Cash for Kids’ charity.
