SSE is looking for customers across England to share their views and join its customer forums.

SSE’s customer forums have been running since 2012 in Havant, Cardiff and Perth, helping the company make a number of improvements, including simpler bills and the introduction of a money back Customer Service Guarantee.

The company’s most recent commitment is a freeze on energy prices until at least 2016 – a promise made in response to customer concerns about future price rises.

Now SSE is searching for new customers to join its Southern Electric forum in Havant and a newly created forum in Newcastle.

Both forums give customers living across England the opportunity to have their say and provide valuable input to help make more improvements that matter to customers.

SSE’s Director of Customer Service, Tony Keeling said: “We are committed to doing the right thing by our customers and we’re able to do this by listening directly to them and taking on board suggestions and changes they want made.

“We’ve received a lot of great feedback through our forums and this is why they are still going strong. You don’t need to be an energy expert to be part of it. All we are looking for are customers happy to learn more about us and share their views on some of the changes we could make – both big and small.”

The forums are independently chaired by representatives from consumer groups and charities, including Citizens Advice, Which? and National Energy Action.

Jenny Saunders from National Energy Action will be chairing the newly created Newcastle forum.  She said:  “There are many Government policies that affect how energy companies deliver their services and the price of energy bills, and the companies themselves want to differentiate their products and services to ensure they meet the needs and expectations of customers.

“Through SSE’s Customer Forum we have the opportunity to influence how the company develops its business in the best interest of its customers.”

Laura Osborne from Which? will chair the south of England forum in Havant.

Both forums are scheduled to start in the autumn and will have a particular focus on the company’s commitment to treating customers fairly and making things simpler, clearer and more transparent.   They will also assist SSE in improving its help for the most vulnerable.

SSE is looking for 14 existing customers to join each forum with meetings held in Portsmouth and Newcastle three times a year.

To register interest email your name, address and telephone number to sse.forum@sse.com  or call 0800 072 8616 by 18 August 2014 for the south of England and 22 August 2014 for the north of England.
