Energy company SSE SWALEC is looking for customers to share their views and join its customer forum.
SSE’s customer forums have been running since 2012 in Cardiff, Havant and Perth helping the company make a number of improvements, including simpler bills and the introduction of a money back Customer Service Guarantee.
The company’s most recent commitment is a freeze on energy prices until at least 2016 – a promise made in response to customer concerns about future price rises.
Now SSE is searching for new customers to join its SWALEC forum, giving people the opportunity to have their say and provide valuable input to help make more improvements that matter to customers.
SSE’s Director of Customer Service, Tony Keeling, said: “We are committed to doing the right thing by our customers and we’re able to do this by listening directly to them and taking on board suggestions and changes they want made.
“We’ve received a lot of great feedback through our forums and this is why they are still going strong. You don’t need to be an energy expert to be part of it. All we are looking for are customers happy to learn more about us and share their views on some of the changes we could make – both big and small.”
The forums are independently chaired by representatives from consumer groups and charities, including Citizens Advice, Which? and National Energy Action.
Andrew Regan from Citizens Advice will be taking on the role of Chair for the SWALEC forum this year. He added:
“As the statutory body representing energy consumers, Citizens Advice hears regularly about a broad range of issues that some customers can face – from managing their bills or problems topping up their meter, to finding out how to save money by becoming more energy efficient.
“Energy suppliers can do a great deal to help their customers, as long as they listen to them and understand what they want and need. So I’m delighted to be chairing this forum, to make sure SSE’s customers have a say in what the company does in future, based on what matters most to consumers in Wales."
SSE’s SWALEC forum is scheduled to start in the autumn and will have a particular focus on the company’s commitment to treating customers fairly and making things simpler, clearer and more transparent. It will also assist the company in improving its help for the most vulnerable.
To register interest email your name, address and telephone number to sse.forum@sse.com or call 0800 072 8616 by 8 September 2014. SSE is looking for 14 existing customers to join and meetings will be held in Cardiff three times a year.
