The quarter-final draw for shinty’s most sought after prize, The Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup, was made this week with a nod to this summer’s Commonwealth Games. SSE is a major sponsor of the Games in Glasgow.

The draw was made at Commonwealth House, Glasgow by Camanachd Association President, Archie Robertson, and David Grevemberg, Chief Executive of Glasgow 2014.

Camanachd Association President, Archie Robertson, said: “We are delighted that David was able to be part of the draw and appreciate his support for shinty.  The draw has again produced some tough ties that make it a very interesting and challenging road to this year's Final in Inverness in September.”

David Grevemberg, Chief Executive of Glasgow 2014, added: “Shinty is an important part of Scotland’s sporting culture and I was delighted to be part of the draw.  The 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow will deliver a unique sporting celebration for Scotland and a legacy that will benefit all of Scottish sport.”

The draw is as follows:

Kinlochshiel            v    Fort William
Lovat or Kingussie   v    Kyles Athletic
