SSE is exploring the potential for a wind farm development at Acharossan woodland and the Otter Estate, located approximately 4km north west of Tighnabruaich in Argyll and Bute.

A Scoping Opinion for the project was submitted earlier this month and SSE recently held a first round of public exhibitions in Kilfinan, Kames , Ardrishaig and Tarbert where the local community had the opportunity to meet members of the project team and discuss the proposal.

Kirstanne McDowall, Acharossan’s Liaison Manager said: “The exhibitions mark the first stage of the public consultation process and we look forward to continued engagement with the communities situated near the Acharossan site. The proposal is still at a very early stage and all feedback received will be considered as we pull together a final design for the proposed development. A second round of public exhibitions will be held next year before we submit our planning application.”

This short video with Kirstanne McDowall and Project Developer Martha Lovatt offers an overview of the project.

In addition, the exhibition boards and comments forms can be found on the project’s website.
