Last year SSE started the roll out of a new simpler and clearer bill to give customers key information about their account and usage in an easier to understand format.
The new bills produced with input from over 1000 SSE customers, features 10 key pieces of information and design features which customers told SSE they want.
Following the initial roll out, more changes have also been made to meet Ofgem’s regulatory changes to energy bills which came into effect this April as part of its Retail Market Review (RMR) reforms to help deliver a simpler, clearer and fairer energy market.
Since the roll out, our new bills now also include:
• The addition of Personal Projection – a customer’s estimated annual costs for the next year based on their current tariff and usage
• Our cheapest deal – the best tariff that a customer can be on with SSE.
• ‘About your tariff’ box – this now includes tariff end date and estimated annual consumption.
• Tariff Comparison Rate (TCR) – a guide based on industry average usage for single rate meters, to help customers compare different tariffs with SSE and other suppliers.
In addition, SSE’s annual summary will now be sent once a year as a stand alone document instead of being attached to bills or statements. This aims to provide customers with key information when reviewing their yearly usage in an easy to read document.
