SSE Airtricity, Northern Ireland’s second largest and greenest energy provider, is proud to announce that it is the new sponsor of UTV Weather. Today’s sponsorship announcement coincides with the news that SSE Airtricity is the new brand name for SSE’s energy supply and energy services business in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

UTV’s Weather forecast has been a staple feature on UTV’s signature news programmeUTV Liveover the years, presented by everyone’s favourite weatherman Frank Mitchell.  Frank has presented the Weather for over 20 years, building up a strong connection with UTV viewers and becoming a trusted presence in households to over 250,000 viewers each night.

As part of the sponsorship, SSE Airtricity has filmed a suite of ‘stings’ that emphasise the positive energy behind the SSE Airtricity brand. The ‘stings’ star young EcoCommittee pupils from Sion Mills Primary School, Co. Tyrone, and Rosemount Primary School, Co. Derry-Londonderry, participating in the SSE Airtricity-sponsored EcoSchools Programme, as well as Olympic Medallist and SSE Commonwealth Games Ambassador Michael Conlan training at an SSE Airtricity wind farm, among others. The ‘stings’ will premier from today.
