Glasgow will go gaga when pop superstar Lady Gaga plays The SSE Hydro in October.

The singer has announced an extensive European leg to her artRave: The ARTPOP Ball tour, and she will play the iconic Glasgow venue on Sunday, October 19.

Tickets for ‘artRave: The ARTPOP Ball’ go on public sale starting Saturday, February 8, at 9am, and are available from www.thehydro.com priced from £39.20.

However, SSE customers registered on ssereward.com will be able to gain access to pre-sale tickets in advance from 9am on Wednesday 5 February until 9am on Friday 7 February.

The singer has sold as many as four million concert tickets during her career after finding worldwide fame in early 2009.

It follows the news earlier in the week that guitar legend Eric Clapton will also make his debut at The SSE Hydro this summer.

The 68-year-old singer will take to the stage at the 13,000-capacity Hydro on Saturday, June 21.

SSE’s 10-year investment and sponsorship of The SSE Hydro was announced in 2011 and has helped propel the venue onto the world stage.

The partnership enables SSE to offer its customers pre-sale access to tickets up to 48 hours in advance of general sale as well as selected upgrades to exclusive lounge access or parking as customer rewards.

Wendy Barbour, SSE Director of Commonwealth Games and Sponsorship, said: “We’re proud to support live entertainment in Scotland through our investment at The SSE Hydro and it’s great to see some of the biggest names in pop coming here.

“The opening of The SSE Hydro was a historic moment for Glasgowand for Scotland as well as an exciting new chapter for SSE. We’re delighted to be able to offer SSE customers exclusive access to some of the world’s biggest events.”
