Paul Boscombe, one of our linesmen based at Slough Depot, worked long and hard throughout the festive period both in his own depot area and Aldershot and Petersfield as they had been particularly badly hit by the severe weather. Paul gives an insight into some of the challenges he faced when trying to get customers' power back on over Christmas, and also the effect it had on his family when he had to work on Christmas Day.
"Initially my wife was very upset because she knew that I'd be working over Christmas; however when I began to relay some of the things we'd been doing as a company to get power back on, and the kinds of people we were helping, families, elderly people and people who had travelled a distance to be with their families, she soon realised just what an important job we were doing."
