We recently held three consultation exhibitions to provide interested parties with an opportunity to learn more about the Beauly, Knocknagael, Tomatin network upgrade.
As a result of a number of new renewable energy projects to the south-west of Inverness, we are in the very early stages of looking at how we can upgrade the network in that area. The project will require an upgrade and reinforcement of the existing transmission network between Beauly, Knocknagael, near Inverness and Tomatin and would allow over 530MW of renewable energy to be harvested from north-west Scotland.
Although the proposals are at an early stage, we would like to get views from the local community and interested parties. We therefore held three further consultation exhibitions to provide interested parties with an opportunity to learn more about the project and to provide feedback on the proposals.
In this video, Project Manager, Andy McLaren explains the reason that we host these events and the proposals for the Beauly Knocknagael Tomatin project.
