Staff from Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) took siblings and their families to a fun night out to see boy band JLS at Scotland’s newest entertainment venue, thanks to SSE.
CHAS is the only charity in Scotland that provides vital hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.
The organisation currently supports over 300 families at Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch, Alexandria and provides additional bereavement support. Their services are funded through generous supporters who help them raise over £9 million a year to provide the service.
As part of SSE’s sponsorship of the SSE Hydro, it was able to provide CHAS with tickets and use of a private box at the brand new arena.
Gillian O’Reilly, SSE’s Head of Community Development, said: "Our sponsorship of The SSE Hydro enables us to offer our charity partners the opportunity to visit the venue and we are delighted that these families were able to experience the spectacular arena direct from exclusive box seats."
Gillian Levy, Relationship Manager at CHAS, added: “For many of the families who use the hospices the focus can often revolve around the care of the unwell child and this can sometimes mean that siblings often miss out on the opportunity to do things.
“To be able to offer them the opportunity to go along to use a private box at this concert was really special for them all and a great treat. Thank you again on behalf of the young people and families that CHAS support.”
