SSE employees have helped raise over £8,000 for BBC's Children In Need appeal.
Hundreds of customer service staff located at sites in Perth, Cardiff, Portsmouth and Basingstoke donned pyjamas, onesies and wild wigs to take part in all kinds of fun and frolics to raise funds that will help children right here in the UK.
Everything from cake baking and leg waxing to face painting and head shaving was carried out on Friday 15th November in a bid to get staff forking out to donate to the much-loved charity.
Sean Swatton from SSE’s Customer Service Centre in Penner Road, Portsmouth was behind some of the fundraising activities. He said: “Every year staff at all of our sites get into the Children In Need spirit and organise a number of activities to help raise cash. It’s a charity we all really get behind and enjoy supporting. It’s also one that provides us with a lot of fun too. We’re absolutely delighted with the total raised so far.”
The money raised by SSE will go towards the impressive total of over £31m already raised by Children in Need, which provides grants to projects in the UK for children and young people who are disadvantaged.
