Mr Miliband appears to have missed our core purpose, namely to provide the energy people need in a reliable and sustainable way.  Our dividend policy is the reason shareholders, including many thousands of small shareholders and pension funds choose to invest in SSE.  It is not a case of putting them before customers, we need both shareholders and customers if we are to have a sustainable business.

SSE is the only energy company to have a customer service guarantee, where we give customers money off their bill if we fail to meet customer service standards and was the first energy supplier to end cold calling.

SSE has been rated number one for customer service in the uSwitch customer satisfaction survey for the last seven years.

SSE values its customers and works hard to deliver the best possible customer service.
