SSE commits to faster switching

SSE is committed to improving the energy retail market for consumers. We have demonstrated this by the actions we have taken in recent years to simplify our tariffs and help new market entrants to access the power they need.

We know that the time taken to switch electricity and gas providers can deter consumers from switching. It is therefore something that consumers would rightly expect the industry to improve, where possible.

Whilst the speed of switching is important, consumers will also expect that we continue to get the process right.

That is why SSE has been working closely with Ofgem and others to find ways to improve the switching process. SSE supports the principle behind quicker switching and we will continue to work constructively with any party to make switching easier for customers.
