SWALEC’s Smart Services were on hand to give new students advice on saving energy at this last week's Cardiff University Freshers’ Fayre.

Smart Services Advisors offer free personalised energy efficiency reviews at homes as well as an energy bill health check, and can even offer practical advice such as how to bleed radiators. Recipients of the service receive a bespoke Smart Plan, including any recommendations from the visit. The service is available to all households

Smart Services Advisor Daniel Knight said: “The topic of Energy efficiency was warmly welcomed by Cardiff's new students, as SWALEC Smart Services empower the students to become more energy conscious and help to conserve their budgets”.

The students heard how much the average home costs per year to heat, as well as receiving practical advice about how to reduce their bills, helping to improve their understanding further with dozens signing up for a bespoke in-home appointment.
