Staff at SSE’s head office in Perth last week took their children into work for a fun day of learning about the company.
This annual event lets youngsters see where their parents work and learn a bit about what they do.
Children on the day were invited to attend a 2 hour session which focused on renewable energy and the 70 years of Hydro generation.
The session included a presentation from Gareth Edwards, Energy Efficiency Manager on the sustainable use of electricity. Other activities included building their very own hydro turbine and a short tour of the Renewable Operations Centre on site.
Susan Scobie, co-ordinator of the event said: “It's wonderful to give our staff the opportunity to bring their children in to see what their mums or dads do."
Education manager Rawdon Jones said: "All the children were brilliant! They had a challenge in building a hydro plant but they persevered and didn't get too wet. I was particularly impressed with how switched on they were on how to save energy at home."
