Bransford Bridge wind farm
SSE Renewables, the renewable development division of SSE, is carrying out environmental investigations in an area near Bransford Bridge, to the north of Churchover in Warwickshire. The information gathered will help us evaluate the suitability of the area for hosting a wind farm.

Public exhibitions were held at the end of June in the Churchover Community Centre, to give details of the information gathered from our environmental investigations so far and to inform the local community of our plans for further investigative work in the area over the coming months. The exhibitions were well attended and members of the SSE Renewables project team were available to answer questions.

Following the exhibitions, in July 2010, we submitted a planning application for the installation of a meteorological mast on the site to further assess wind speed, and will be continuing to carry out additional environmental investigations. These investigations, along with our ongoing consultation with various stakeholders, will help us to refine our proposals for Bransford Bridge, which we will present at a further round of public exhibitions towards the end of the year.
