Kintyre-Hunterston transmission line
On 12 January 2007 Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission Limited (SHETL), a subsidiary of Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE), published a Consultation Document on the possible development of a new high voltage electricity transmission line capable of accommodating output from renewable energy schemes which may be developed on the Kintyre peninsula and to connect this to the existing mainland transmission network at Hunterston in Ayrshire.
Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission Ltd (SHETL) is now intending to submit a planning application to Argyll & Bute Council for a new 132kV electricity substation and access at Crossaig Forest, Skipness, Argyll.
