  • Dividend reinvestment

At SSE's Annual General Meeting on 22 July 2010, shareholders authorised the directors to offer a Scrip Dividend Scheme. The Scrip Dividend Scheme has replaced our Dividend Reinvestment Plan and will remain the alternative to the cash dividend for the foreseeable future.

Shareholders who participated in our Dividend Reinvestment Plan as at close of business on 30 July 2010 were transferred automatically into the Scrip Dividend Scheme, apart from CREST participants who had to consult their CREST sponsor about the action to take. If you are a shareholder in the Scheme, you will remain a participant until you choose to withdraw. If you would like to withdraw from the Scheme, please write to Capita Registrars, Corporate Actions, The Registry, 34 Beckenham Road, Beckenham BR3 4TU to request this. Capita Registrars need to receive your withdrawal request no later than 20 business days before the relevant dividend payment date.

Full details of the resolutions proposed to shareholders (and approved by them) are set out within the Notice of Meeting 2010. The Notice of Meeting includes the proposed Terms and Conditions of the Scrip Dividend Scheme.

If you have any questions about the scheme, please contact Capita Registrars 0845 143 4005 (UK) or +44 (0)844 335 8927 (overseas).
