We have just one strategic priority: sustained real dividend growth.
Receiving and investing dividends is by far the biggest source of investor return over the long term. Our dividend obsession, and the long-term outlook it requires, has delivered for shareholders.
SSE is one of just five FTSE 100 companies to have delivered a real dividend increase every year since 1999. Not only that, but we are ranked 10th among continuing FTSE 100 companies for Total Shareholder Return over that period.
Our target is to increase the full-year dividend by at least 2% more than Retail Price Index (RPI) inflation in each financial year to March 2013 and to continue with above-inflation increases in subsequent years.
