Dounreay to Mybster

 We are carrying out a number of upgrades to the electricity transmission network in the north of Scotland. One of the proposed reinforcements is to the existing electricity transmission network between Dounreay and Mybster in Caithness.

Applications submitted

We have submitted applications for consent to reinforce the overhead line network from Dounreay to Mybster, to build a new Thurso South substation and to extend the existing Mybster substation.

Transmission and connections

Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission owns and maintains the 132kV and 275kV electricity transmission network in the north of Scotland, in some of the UK's most challenging terrain.
