    SSE operates in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. We are also involved in renewable energy developments in continental Europe, including the Netherlands. Our assets include;

    • Wholly-owned gas-fired power stations at Keadby (Lincolnshire), Medway (Kent), Peterhead (Aberdeenshire), Tarbert (Co.Kerry), Great Island (Co.Wexford), Tawnaghmore (Co.Mayo) and Rhode (Co.Offaly);
    • Coal-fired power stations at Ferrybridge (Yorkshire), Fiddler's Ferry (Cheshire) and Uskmouth (Gwent);
    • Hydro electric schemes in the north of Scotland;
    • Wind farms in UK and Ireland;
    • Customer service centres in Basingstoke (Hampshire), Cardiff, Cumbernauld (North Lanarkshire), Dublin, Havant (Hampshire) and Perth (Perth and Kinross);
    • Electricity distribution networks across central, southern England and the north of Scotland;
    • Gas distribution networks (we have a 50% share in Scotia Gas Networks) across the south east of England and all of Scotland;
    • Gas storage facilities in East Yorkshire;
    • Contracting and connections businesses with over 50 regional offices in England, Scotland and Wales; and
    • Telecoms network connecting major centres of population throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
